The MATES North America Pilot is a 12-month initiative (launched March 2026) designed to adapt, test, and evaluate a world-leading, peer-led suicide prevention model for the US and Canadian construction and energy industries.
The need is urgent: construction workers die by suicide at nearly five times the rate of other workplace fatalities. This pilot, supported by founding partner Quanta Services, uses a "learning-by-doing" approach to build a "relational infrastructure" of care where looking out for your crew is part of the job.
