Dan is a Non-Executive Director of Icon Co Pty (NZ) Ltd. Trained in structural engineering, Dan has led multiple major construction projects and businesses in New Zealand and internationally, including leading the project team on the iconic 7-star Burj al Arab Hotel in Dubai. Before leading Icon’s New Zealand establishment from 2017, business leadership roles included NZ Regional Managing Director for Multiplex Constructions, and Executive General Manager of Hawkins Construction, two of NZ’s largest commercial contractors.

Dan is passionate about the people who are the foundation of our industry and sees MATES as a key initiative in enhancing the safety and wellbeing of construction people "on the ground". He was on the MATES NZ establishment steering group and the inaugural Board, appointed as Chair in 2021 and joined the MATES Australia Board in early 2022.
