Shallon Yi

Executive Manager

Shallon Yi is the Executive Manager of MATES North America Pilot, leading the implementation of an evidence-informed, industry-led approach to suicide prevention and mental health in construction. Qualifications in Behavioral Science and Education shape how she approaches her work: designing operational systems and workforce capability development that people actually engage with, by translating evidence into clear, usable tools for leaders and those who deliver programs on the ground. Her postgraduate studies in International Development and Behavioral Economics add a strong lens on context, incentives, and what drives real-world uptake especially in complex, high-pressure environments.

Shallon brings 15+ years’ leadership across diverse portfolios in community services and large, purpose-driven organizations, both in Australia and internationally. She has held senior roles spanning commissioning/procurement, large-scale sector reform implementation, continuous improvement, quality, risk and WHS. She has also supported incident responses in disaster recovery deployment contexts, which informs her calm, grounded approach when conditions change quickly.

Shallon is known for her people-centered, relationship-focused leadership style placing high value on building trust, listening closely to what the workforce needs, and working alongside partners to turn good intentions into delivery that sticks.
